What Is A Local Captain?

A No2Wait Local Captain is a verified local member who knows selected places and can help users understand local context before or during a trip.

Local Captain support is optional unless a specific No2Wait trip clearly mentions that a Local Captain is assigned.

What Can A Local Captain Help With?

Local Captains can share place knowledge, basic planning support, meeting-point context, route awareness, timing context, and safer group coordination.

They are not emergency responders and must not claim official certification unless supporting information was provided and approved during review.

Who Can Apply?

Signed-in No2Wait users can apply from Profile by choosing Become a Local Captain. Applicants should know the service areas they select and be prepared to follow No2Wait safety and conduct rules.

Applying does not make a profile public. The application remains private while it is reviewed.

How Verification Works

Local Captains are reviewed by No2Wait before being shown publicly.

No2Wait may approve, reject, request changes, or suspend a Local Captain profile. Only verified profiles with public visibility enabled can appear to users or be assigned to a trip.

What Verified Means, And What It Does Not

"Verified" on No2Wait means a member of our team has reviewed the documents an applicant submitted, checked that they are legible and consistent with the details on the application, and confirmed that the selfie appears to be the same person. That is the whole of it.

It is not a criminal background check, a police verification, a licence or tourism-authority accreditation, a skills assessment, or a safety guarantee. No2Wait does not carry out any of those, and a verified badge must not be read as any of them.

Local Captains are independent individuals who choose to register on No2Wait. They are not employees, agents, or representatives of No2Wait, and No2Wait does not direct how they carry out their time with users.

Users should apply the same judgement they would with anyone they meet through an app: agree on plans in advance, keep to public meeting points where possible, and tell someone where they are going.

How Local Captains Are Paid

Paid trip support is not live yet - No2Wait is still enabling online payment, so no trip support is charged to travellers or paid out to Captains at this time. The rest of this section describes how earning will work once that is turned on; applying, verification, and everything else in the app work the same in the meantime.

Where a trip includes paid Local Captain support, No2Wait sets the price, the traveller pays No2Wait, and No2Wait pays the Local Captain. Nothing is charged to apply, there is no subscription, and there is no minimum number of trips.

Payment is per completed trip. What a Local Captain receives is the service amount on the request they accepted, less the No2Wait platform fee and any processing charges and taxes that apply - all of which are shown in the app before the request is accepted. Once a request is accepted the amount is fixed and does not change.

After trip support is marked complete, the payout is held for a short review window so travellers can leave a review, and then released. It is held longer, for a person on our team to look at, if the traveller's payment has not settled, if a low rating is left, or if there is an open safety or conduct report. A low rating is treated as a signal to look into, not an automatic deduction - a star rating can reflect weather, other travellers, or taste, and cutting earned pay for it would be unfair and easy to abuse.

To be paid you add a bank account or UPI ID once your application is verified. Those details go straight to our payments provider, which sends back a reference to the account. No2Wait keeps that reference, your bank code and the last four digits - enough to show you which account you chose, and not enough for anyone to move money with. We never store your account number.

Local Captains are independent individuals and are responsible for their own taxes, registrations, insurance, and any licences their activity requires. No2Wait does not guarantee how many requests will arrive, or that any will.

Safety Expectations

Local Captains and users must communicate respectfully, avoid misleading claims, protect personal information, and report serious concerns.

Users should always follow local laws, official safety instructions, and trip rules. No2Wait does not guarantee conditions at a location, weather, access, permissions, or third-party behavior.

What Users Can See

A verified public profile can show the display name, photo, base city and state, languages, known places, short bio, Local Captain types, rating, and completed trip count.

Assigned trips may show a verified badge and a safe public profile card.

What Information Remains Private

Full legal name, phone number, email address, uploaded documents, document review details, internal notes, and other sensitive verification information are not shown to normal users.

Protected information is available only to authorized No2Wait operators for application review, safety, support, and platform integrity.

Report Or Support Process

Users can report a Local Captain from an assigned trip or public profile. No2Wait can review the report, contact involved users where appropriate, and restrict a profile during investigation.
